Senior Living On Lake Gaston

Welcome to the LGRVF!

The Lake Gaston Retirement Village Foundation, Inc. (LGRVF) established by area churches and community leaders in 2007 supports development of ministries designed to meet the physical, social, spiritual, and psychological needs of seniors.

Why Lake Gaston?

Lake Gaston is a beautiful 35 mile lake which borders on North Carolina and Virginia. A number of people from the East Coast region choose this location for their retirement years. The area is rural, the climate is moderate, and the senior population is growing.

Our Mission

Our Mission is to empower and enable older adults of the Lake Gaston Community to continue their lives in an independent, meaningful, healthful and dignified manner.

Our Vision

Our Vision is a Lake Gaston area where older adults have access to personal and community resources as well as social and spiritual support to enable them to live their lives to the fullest in the home of their choice. Our Vision is a community that comes together to support and provide these services.

How To Accomplish Our Vision

To accomplish Our Vision in the short term the LGRV Foundation, through the project Helpful Hands and Hearts, provides (or facilitates) referral services and volunteer services to older adults in need of transportation, minor home repairs, access ramps and social visitation. The Foundation also encourages integration of existing services and the development of needed services not available to enhance the quality of life for older adults.

Continuing Care Retirement Community

In the long term the Foundation will continue to identify partners willing to support the development and operation of a Continuing Care Retirement Community with and/or without walls. Many area residents would like to move eventually to a retirement community with the security of 24-hour nursing support – without leaving our peacefully secluded area. Many others would like to move their aging parents to such a community to be closer to them. In addition, a health clinic would be a wonderful benefit for the entire community, providing additional health infrastructure to support a growing population.
